Close-up Photos:The picture details were softened to achieve deeper clarity and lighter with a yellow tone. We also noticed some cropping.
Scenic & Background Photos:The details were softened and were not crisp; due to a yellow tone to distant scenic pbjects in the picture. We also noticed some cropping here too.
Shutterfly has relatively high per-print costs. However, they do provide unlimited ad-free online photo sharing as well as various photo editing tools and software - for Free with your registered account!
To ship nine 4 x 6 inch prints, Shutterfly charged us $1.99. The actual postage for USPS First Class mail was $0.83. This means that Shutterfly charged us $1.06 - towards their packaging and handling costs. Our prints arrived in a lightweight cardboard sleeve, wrapped inside another lightweight cardboard envelope.
For each service provider that we reviewed; we gave them one to four days to ship us our finished prints in order to receive a high score in this category. Shutterfly positively met our requirements.
